Senior UX Designer – Melbourne

At Traffic Brand Agency in Melbourne, we are experiencing rapid growth within our in-house Digital team. Our digital capabilities include design, development and product innovation and we partner with the brand team on advertising, social, content and branding. 

Job Description

We are looking for a creative and accomplished Senior Digital Designer (UX/ UI) with experience designing products in the digital landscape. You will design mobile-first digital solutions that solve clearly articulated user problems and be a part of the project process end-to-end. This is an important position in the digital delivery team, responsible for designing best-in-class experiences for Traffic’s clients.  

You will have the full support of the Digital Director and the digital delivery team including a Senior Digital Designer, in-house Developers, a digital Project Manager, Account Service and Creative Directors. 


  • Solve, design and execute multi-platform solutions, translating complex concepts and ideas into visual representations.
  • Lead the Discovery process uncovering user and business needs in workshops to inform the design of sitemaps, customer journey maps and personas. 
  • Develop a user experience that has considered user flows and information architecture, translated into wireframes and prototypes. Work with, and receive feedback from, the development team to ensure the functionality is feasible and takes on technical considerations and possibilities. 
  • Design a user interface with purposeful interactions, clever and engaging design which meet accessibility web standards when required. A passion for experimentation and pushing the design possibilities is a must. 
  • Be a part of the development process, creating developers a Global Experience Language (GEL) and continuously testing whether the user experience is effective, and the design has been translated correctly, in the developed product. 
  • Understand and work within project parameters such as client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule.
  • Offering design advice at the start and throughout a project, right from the birth of a brand.
  • Working independently as well as collaboratively with the creative department and production team on a variety of projects.
  • Attend meetings with Account Management and Clients both in the studio and off-site. 
  • Working with the delivery team to constantly improve the production process. 
  • As a senior member of the digital team, you will mentor junior members and provide support required to the Executive and Account Management team.


  • Advanced skills and knowledge of Sketch and Invision a must (other prototyping tools are advantageous) 
  • Adobe Creative Cloud skills are required specifically Photoshop and InDesign. 
  • Previous experience planning, facilitating and reporting on Discovery workshops and rolling out the deliverables during the UX phase.
  • Solid understanding of UI Design, digital trends and demonstration of a rigorous design method (research and data-driven design).
  • A natural design sense for digital and how it applies to brands; layout, typography, imagery and messaging.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and rationalise creative solutions to clients. Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail. .
  • Experience in the Property Marketing industry is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualified with formal education across design, development, business or technology / IT.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years’ experience working in a digital agency or studio.
