Job Description

The Front-end Developer will be responsible for developing best-in-class digital experiences for Traffic’s clients. They will contribute to, developing and delivering mobile-first and responsive digital design solutions that provide visually compelling digital designs that solve clearly articulated user problems.

The Front-end Developer will have the full support of UX researchers, designers, producers and account service as well as Creative Directors.

We aren’t looking for someone that wants a career as an IT System’s Engineer. We are looking for someone with a passion for web development and solutions. We will be assessing what you have done and can do, not what is in your CV on paper.


  • Strong semantically correct HTML and CSS skills with the ability to create complex layouts.
  • Ability to create clean, maintainable and reusable code will be necessary.
  • Solid experience with React.JS a must including maintaining existing platforms
  • Experience writing pure JavaScript (ES6)
  • Ability to create JS based performant interactions/animations (GSAP).
  • Understanding of Git for version control.
  • Experience with WebPack for module bundling and other tasks like preprocessing Sass and other assets
  • Working knowledge of Sketch and/or Figma – the ability to take a design and convert to an HTML-CSS layout. Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp and/or Campaign Monitor.
  • Strong skills in responsive eDM and web development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must with the ability to communicate multiple messages and complex information simply.
  • Able to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously.
  • Across the latest trends in UI/UX and Tech
  • Able to advise on and push for best practices and tech stack.
  • Experience with WordPress development and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) in particular.
  • Tertiary qualified with formal education across design, development, business or technology/IT.
  • Australian permanent residency or eligible Australian work visa.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience working in a digital agency or studio.

Advantageous Skills

  • Experience in the Property Marketing industry is preferred
  • An understanding of HTML5 banner ad production, as well as knowledge of CSS and JavaScript animation libraries and techniques
  • Understanding of accessibility standards
  • Experience with PHP and MySQL will be looked upon favourably
  • Experience with Node, Webpack and Express
  • Experience with headless/decoupled CMS.
  • Experience with GraphQL query language
  • Experience in other client-side libraries such as AngularJS.
