Senior Brand Strategist – Sydney

Traffic Sydney are looking for a Senior Planner to join our Planning team. Working across our portfolio of clients, the role is responsible for business, brand and communications strategy and planning. Reporting to the CEO, the role will be focused on developing and maintaining brand strategy, marketing communications plans and developing agency briefs.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Strategist, someone creative and collaborative to join our team in Sydney.The Senior Strategist will work as a core part of our Strategy team and collaborate with our Account Management and Creative teams to successfully collect, analyse and translate data into ideas and solutions to client branding problems. We need someone who is a self-starter, who is comfortable taking on more responsibility and ownership of tasks, and who has the confidence and character to become an integral part of the team.

The Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Prepare annual marketing plans in line with client strategic objectives
  • Develop brand strategies
  • Write and present marketing business plans
  • Write and interrogate briefs as required
  • Help inspire creative thinking with insights
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients and agency teams
  • Attend Client briefing sessions and present marketing and communications plans
  • Play a key role in new business pitches for the agency

Desired Skills & Experience

  • You have experience leading large accounts independently
  • You have experience in a fully integrated creative agency with a focus on brand
  • You are collaborative in your working style and calm under pressure
  • Provocative thinking comes naturally to you
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ planning experience within a creative agency
  • You can lead brand communication workshops

You will have

  • Completed tertiary education in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar strategy role (experience in an agency environment will be highly regarded)
  • Analytical, strategic and creative thinking, with proficiency in developing brand strategies and using those strategies as an input for creative development
  • Intellectual curiosity and possesses a keen interest in learning about issues facing our clients, their competitors and end users/customers
  • Proficiency in collecting and analysing data and effectively translating into client ready presentations
  • Good degree of familiarity with the strategic and design deliverables applied to the ‘digital world’
  • Project management, multi-tasking and organisational skills
  • An outgoing and enthusiastic personality with a passion for brands and branding
