Mid-Senior Full Stack Developer – Melbourne

At Traffic Brand Agency in Melbourne, we are experiencing rapid growth within our in-house Digital team. Our digital capabilities include design, development and product innovation and we partner with the brand team on advertising, social, content and branding. 

Job Description

We are looking for a Mid-Senior Full Stack Developer who has ideally worked in an agency and has successfully built diverse custom web solutions. This role would partake, and lead, a variety of websites, web apps and digital products. This is an amazing opportunity to grow within the award winning agency and develop original digital solutions.

You will have the full support of an established development team, and the greater digital delivery team including the Digital Director, Senior Digital Designer, digital Project Manager, Account Service and Creative Directors. 

Responsibilities

  • Build complex / technical projects. You will have proven experience implementing best-practices techniques for web applications, tools and build processes.
  • Own the technical architecture of key projects and all associated problem-solving.
  • Work closely with other developers, and the UX / design team in creating user-centric, end-to-end solutions.
  • Working independently as well as collaboratively with the design studio and production team on a variety of projects.
  • Attend meetings with Account Management and Clients both in the studio and off-site. 
  • Working with the delivery team to constantly improve the production process. 
  • As a member of the digital team, you will educate, collaborate and share knowledge with the greater team.

Requirements

  • Web fundamentals – HTML5, JS, CSS3.
  • Build Systems and Preprocessors – NPM, Composer, Webpack, Babel, SASS, Git, Pipelines.
  • Frameworks and Libraries – React.js, es6 / es7. Angular and redux (advantageous). Knowledge of bootstrap/foundation (desirable). 
  • Techniques – Web Components, API design, REST, AJAX.
  • CMS – WordPress (required), Craft (desirable).
  • Server-side and Databases – AWS (certified is advantageous), PHP, MySQL, Node.js, Apache, Nginx, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux.
  • eCommerce – Woocommerce, Shopify (desirable), Magento (desirable).
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Sketch – the ability to take a design and convert to a HTML-CSS layout (required).  
  • Methodologies – Waterfall, Agile (Stand-ups, Sprints, Kanban).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and rationalise creative solutions to clients. Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail. 
  • Tertiary qualified with formal education across development or technology/IT (advantageous).
  • Experience in the Property Marketing industry (desirable).
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience working in a digital agency or studio.
