To help maintain and improve these creative standards, we are hunting for an energetic, driven Creative Director for our Melbourne office, who will also play a vital role in the direction and management of the overall agency.

Job Description
As the creative lead for Traffic Melbourne, the Creative Director is responsible for developing and implementing creative principles and leading the creative and digital design teams to deliver highly effective projects to the highest creative standard.

The Creative Director mentors, guides and provides support for the creative team to develop a clear solution, and alongside Account Management, they grow strong professional relationships with clients and works closely with the Production team to see the project through to fulfilment.

With our client portfolio increasingly becoming more property centric, it is critical that the Creative Director has broad and deep experience across this space, in particular in Masterplanned communities.

Role Specifics
The Creative Director’s ultimate accountability is to lead the creative and digital design team members, while maintaining a hands-on approach to produce outstanding creative solutions that exceed the client expectations.

  • Integral management team role in the overall direction and running of the agency, alongside the General Manager, Digital Director and Finance Director
  • Develops and leads creative effort for projects by working in collaboration with the agency team to provide appropriate creative solutions to client needs.
  • Mentors, guides and supports the creative team in developing their talents and meeting Traffic’s needs across all agency projects for our clients.
  • Nurtures a culture that values creativity through leading by example, adhering to the guiding principles, and behavioural expectations.
  • Plays a major role in all new business pitches, helping form the overall strategic and creative direction of the agency recommendations
  • Facilitates the development of relationships between the creative and digital design team and relevant Account Management team to enable the successful completion of projects (on time and on budget).
  • Encourages and assists the creative and digital design teams in delivering brave work that has not been done before.
  • Ensure the studio creates work that emphasises the idea and is accurate in thinking, execution and language.
  • Develop an understanding of client needs, build and grow existing and new professional relationships.
  • Give clear feedback to creative & digital team members and provide solutions to improve project outcomes.
